PROCTORVILLE, Ohio — Janet Gay Wellman, 59, of Proctorville, Ohio, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2011, in St. Mary’s Medical Center at Huntington.

Born October 31, 1951, in Logan, she was a daughter of the late John and Bobbie Dean Slone Hilbert. Also preceding her in death was her brother, Johnny Hilbert.

Janet was a member of First Baptist Church at Proctorville. She retired from Fairland Elementary.

Survivors include her husband, Grover “Pete” Wellman; two sons, Patrick (Kimberly) Wellman of Chesapeake, Ohio, and Scott (Tanya) Wellman of Harriman, Tenn.; one daughter, Hannah (Chris) Reese of Proctorville; six grandchildren, Emily Wellman, Sydney Wellman, Alyssa Wellman, MaKenna Wellman, and Lexi and Isaiah Reese; two sisters, Donna Fleming of Logan and Regina Mullins of Crestview, Fla.; one brother, Charles Hilbert of Logan; several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Kara Mullins; her faithful dog Sami and many friends at Cabell Huntington Dialysis including one special friend Sharon Curry.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, January 19, at the Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Black officiating. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery at Proctorville.
