DINGESS, W.Va. — Mrs. Fannie Messer Baisden, 85, of Dingess, was born March 5, 1926, at Swellin, a daughter of the late Carter and Myrtle Messer. She went home to be with the Lord Friday, March 18, 2011, at her residence.

Also preceding her in death was an infant son, Bobby Lee Baisden; brothers, Arlend and Dewey Messer, and sisters, Vada Hodge and Gracie Baisden.  

Mrs. Baisden was a homemaker and member of the Mt. Hope Freewill Baptist Church at Dingess.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 64 years, Landen Baisden; daughter, Myrtle (John) Preece of Delbarton; sons, Landen Jr. (Misty) Baisden, Gary (Tina) Baisden, Bruce (Susan) Baisden and James Ed (Bonnie) Baisden, all of Dingess; grandchildren, Ronnie (Crystal) Blankenship, Warren (Carla) Preece, Greg (Teresa) Preece, Michelle (Darrin) McCormick, Tammy (Matt) Runyon, Landen Baisden III, Jennifer Copley, Jason (Crystal) Baisden, Sarah (Jeremy) Queen, Matt (Tessa) Baisden, Amanda (Luke) Kolkedy, Jeremy  Newsome, Kyria Messer, Bruce Baisden Jr., Jeffrey Baisden, Candita (Jeremy) Crabtree, Marinda Cambell, Thomas Baisden, Justin Baisden, Ashley Marcum, Amy (Kevin) Adkins, Dan (Amanda) Baisden, Adam Baisden, Darin (Montana) Baisden and Brad (Michelle) Baisden; 43 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; special friends, Jess Browning, Pat Sheppard, Paula Newsome Vance and Roscoe Dillon; brothers, Russell (Melvina) Messer, Oliver Ray (Wanda) Messer and Dan (Pamela) Messer and sisters, Eliza Messer and Dorothy (John) Baisden.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. today, March 20, at the Mt. Hope Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Taylor, Rev. John Taylor and Rev. Cornelius Lackey officiating. Burial will follow in the Baisden Cemetery at Dingess.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Blankenship, Bubby Baisden, Jason Baisden, Matt Baisden, BJ Baisden, Jeff Baisden, Brad Baisden, Darin Baisden, Adam Baisden, Dan Baisden, Justin Baisden, Thomas Baisden and Jeremy Newsome.

Visitation will begin two hours prior to services today at the church.

Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
