For many years the WE CAN Vaudeville Review has been a primary fundraiser for the Working to Eliminate Child Abuse and Neglect organization in Logan County. WE CAN takes many at-risk children to summer camp every year and has for the past decade. At the review local dancers, singers, and even a crossdresser or two have been known to strut their stuff for the hometown crowd for a good cause.
Ellen Browning spoke about the upcoming WE CAN Vaudeville Review which will be coming up on May 13 at the Coalfield Jamboree on Main Street in Downtown Logan. Browning said WE CAN's board of directors was looking at making some changes in the show, including doing away with admission tickets and asking the audience for a donation.
Browning said interested parties can contact her about volunteering for the show, either to perform or to become sponsors. WE CAN is looking at doing sponsorships and other fundraisers for the event which helps fund the WE CAN summer camp for kids.
"Let people know this is coming up," Browning said. "We need to fill those seats at the Coalfield Jamboree."
