McCann, Lady Tigers blank Poca Dots, 8-0

CHAPMANVILLE – The Chapmanville Regional High School softball team ran its record to 2-0 overall and 2-0 in the Cardinal Conference with Tuesday’s 8-0 win at home over the Poca Dots at the new Lady Tigers’ softball field.

Haley McCann was the starting and winning pitcher for CRHS. She went seven innings and allowed five hits and one walk while striking out three.

Allison Evans was 2-for-3 at the plate and hit her first prep home run.

Samantha Carver was a perfect 3-for-3, while Jenna Evans went 2-for-2.

Alyssa Bailey was 2-for-3 for the Lady Tigers. Talya Berry also had a hit.

Emily Chapman hit a home run for Chapmanville in the JV game, already her second on the season.

The Lady Tigers are scheduled to play at Wayne tonight, weather permitting. Chapmanville goes to Sissonville on Thursday night.
