Frye, a four-time Class A all-state player for Man High School, is hitting .360 in 21 game appearances so far with the West Virginia State Yellow Jackets.
Frye, who led Man to Class A state championships in 2008 and 2009, is 18-for-50 at the plate with six doubles, a triple and 19 RBI. The freshman has also drawn a team-best 13 walks.
On the mound, Frye has made two pitching appearances, tossing 1.1 innings and allowing three walks to go along with her two strikeouts.
West Virginia State has a 15-7 record going into this week’s action and have yet to play a WVIAC contest.
Also on the Yellow Jackets’ roster is sophomore catcher Poppy Ramey, a Chapmanville Regional High School graduate and Harts native.
Ramey is batting .263 this season in 19 appearances. She is 10-for-38 at the plate with seven RBI and two walks.
