Logan tennis team takes win over Beckley Woodrow Wilson

The Logan High School tennis team got a sweep over Beckley Woodrow Wilson last Saturday at home.

The Logan boys won 5-2, while the girls were a 4-3 winner.

The Wildcats’ No. 1 singles player Zack Hatfield won 8-2 over Beckley’s Rich Daniel.

Tyler Howerton (8-4) and Keith Williamson (8-4) won in singles matches.

Hatfield and Howerton (8-4) and Williamson and Nathan Thornhill (8-6) won in doubles.

In the girls’ match, Lauren Chambers (8-0), Jenna Turner (9-8) and Rebecca Canterbury (8-4) won in the singles. Chambers and Canterbury (8-2) were winners in doubles.

Logan’s match on Monday at home against St. Albans was called off due to the threat of severe weather. On Tuesday, Logan hosts Riverside before hosting South Charleston on Thursday.
