Shriner’s Alvin W. Connor Memorial Golf Tourney returns

CHAPMANVILLE — Area golfers who enjoy a day on the links can enjoy their favorite sport as well as help a local charity when the Logan Shrine Club's annual golf tournament returns to the Logan Country Club on Friday, May 13 at noon.

The event will feature a shotgun start at noon with the opportunity to win a 2011 vehicle sponsored by Thornhill Motors. Must be on par number three, no fourth hole, noted Logan Shrine Club President Larry Chafin. There will also be prizes for the longest drive and the longest putt as well as door prizes and a 50/50 drawing. There will be a Putting contest for golfers to show their stuff and Mulligans will be sold. Two 4-man teams will start on each hole. Space is limited to the first 100 golfers or 25 teams.

The golf tournament is open to men and women and everyone is invited to participate. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Logan Shrine Club.

Entry fees are $100 per person or $400 per team. Sponsorships are available at $5 and Hole and Team Sponsorships are available for $400, including free sign.
