On Friday and Saturday, May 6-7, the Omar Area Crime Watch (OCAW) will have a grand opening of their new Omar Community Center and Training Facility. Festivities will begin at noon each day.

We would like to invite all residents in this area to attend this special event. We are very proud of all the work that has been done to remodel an old Church into a state of the art facility that features a movie theater with a 19ft screen and a 1,000 watt sound system, a computer lab that has 10 laptops for adults and children who do not have computers or internet access, computer classes for those who have never been on a computer or those who would like to learn more about computers.

We also have a fully functional fitness room free to any person who would like to work out. We have an outstanding kitchen which features a 10 burner gas stove for cooking dinners for the elderly and shutins on Thanksgiving. This facility will be available to rent for reunions, birthday parties, wedding receptions and to companies who need to train their employees. This building will be available for community meetings free of charge.

We hope you can join us for our grand opening as we are very proud to show what a small town can accomplish with hard work and God's blessing.
