The Class AA No. 2-ranked Chapmanville Regional High School softball team advanced to next week’s regional championship game after beating Wayne 1-0 in nine innings on Thurday night at Wayne in the region semifinal round.
Allison Evans pitched a complete game nine-inning no-hitter for Chapmanville (21-6).
The Lady Tigers, the two-time defending Class AA state champs, are just one win away from making it back to the state tournament in Vienna.
Chapmanville is scheduled to host Poca next Thursday in the Class AA regional final at CRHS. Game time is 5:30 p.m.
Poca advanced with a 4-2 win over Sissonville in a mild upset.
The Lady Tigers are 2-0 this season vs. Poca, winning 3-1 and 8-0 games over the Dots.
Hanna Wooten had the game winning RBI for Chapmanville in the ninth inning of last night's game. Evans was 2-for-5 at the plate.
