Elijah has represented West Virginia in the American Association of Christian School’s Legislative Conference in Washington D.C. and has also attended the AACS Youth Leadership Conference. During his senior year Elijah has served BHCS at soccer captain, class historian and member of Spanish club. He placed second in the Logan Scottish Rite Bodies Americanism essay contest. His hobbies include fishing, politics, firearms, and playing the piano. He is a member of Cornerstone Family Fellowship Church.
He plans to attend Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College in the fall on an academic scholarship. He has also been awarded a scholarship opportunity from Concord University. His future interests are in political science, government and, eventually, to pursue a degree in law.
Elijah is the son of Timothy and Samantha Hooker and the grandson of Lester and Brenda Pennington, Samuel and Francis Solomon, Henry Hooker, and the late Loretta Hooker, all of the Omar area.
Other members of the graduating class include Daniel Topping, Jessica Frye, Jobe Estep and Taylor Hobbs.
