RANGER, W.Va. Kenneth James Moore Sr., 71, of Ranger, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, May 19, 2011, at St. Marys Medical Center in Huntington.
Born June 13, 1939, in Wayne, he was a son of the late Edward Roy and Opal Caldwell Moore. Also preceding him in death was one brother, Ronald Moore; grandparents, Thomas and Lucinda Wiley Moore and James and Cleracy Caldwell, and his father and mother-in-law, Ira and Cinda Lambert.
Ken enjoyed fishing, camping with family and playing music.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving, Freda Lambert Moore; four daughters, Lisa Cochran, Lucinda (Lucian) Lambert, Opal Moore and Stephanie Moore; five sons, Kenneth Moore Jr., Davey (Trina) Moore, Harold (Linda) Moore, Thomas (Jennifer) Moore and Jonathan Moore; four sisters, Lola Dingess, Naomi Moore, Belle Porter and Ottie Moore; four brothers, Pearly, Virgil, Percy and Charles Buddy Moore; 10 grandchildren, Vickie Cochran, Alecia Woodall, Jake Lambert, Christina Johnson, Chip Cochran, Corey Fitzpatrick, Katlyn Fitzpatrick, William Moore Jr., Shawnita Moore and Rebecca Lambert, and six great-grandchildren, Ben Tabor, Hayden Johnson, Shianna Cochran, Elizabeth Lambert, Hunter Cochran and Emma Lambert.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, at the Kiahs Creek United Baptist Church at Ranger with Lonnie Wiley officiating. Burial will follow at the Webb Cemetery at Ranger.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the Freeman Funeral Home.
Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
