That was evident as 11 members of the Lady Tigers’ squad were selected to the All-Cardinal Conference Softball Team.
Chapmanville made it back to the state tourney for the third straight year and finished with a 23-8 overall record. The Lady Tigers were 1-2 in the state tournament.
Making it to the all-league first team from Chapmanville were junior twins Allison and Jenna Evans, junior Alyssa Bailey, sophomore Talya Berry and senior Samantha Carver.
The Lady Tigers were represented on the second team by juniors Haley McCann and Heather Nagy, sophomores Brandi Broom and Hanna Wooten and freshman Lauryn Easterling.
Named honorable mention all-conference was senior Haley McHenry of Chapmanville Regional.
On the first team from Wayne were Jessica Watts, Jessica Rowe, Tasha Maynard and Kayla Adams.
Representing Sissonville were Dee Dee Loftis, Bekah Baldwin and Kaytee Gibson. First-team members from Scott were Hanna Griffith, Kelsey Leadman and Allison Johnson. Regional runner-up Poca had Miranda Linville and Madi McGrew on the first team. Kohl Slone and Regan Cottrill of Point Pleasant, Marissa Shaffer of Herbert Hoover and Kristie Lahoda of Tolsia were also on the first team.
Also on the second team were: Wayne’s Emily Fry; Sissonville’s Lindsay Ballard, Katie Holmes and Ashley Dingee; Scott’s Katie Wooten and Sara Browning; Poca’s Morgan Lucas and Jordan Baria; Point Pleasant’s Kaci Riffle and A.J. Adkins; Herbert Hoover’s Lexi Lawrence; and Tolsia’s Kellie Lahoda.
Named honorable mention all-conference were: Sissonville’s Kayla Anderson, Haylie Ballard and Taylor Lacy; Scott’s Alandra Curry; Poca’s Morgan Ball and Ashlee Peters; Point Pleasant’s Megan Davis; Herbert Hoover’s Haylie Anderson and Mandy Edmonds; and Samantha Hayton and Kayla Beeney of Tolsia.
