Dirt Days begins today

Hundreds of thrill seekers are expected to converge on southern West Virginia this weekend for the annual Dirt Days festival in Logan County.

Called “High-Octane Fun on the Hatfield-McCoy Trails,” Dirt Days is an annual celebration of the trails and ATVs, UTVs and dirt bikes that tkes place at Thunderblast Park on Three Mile Curve near Logan.

During Dirt Days, there’s fun events for everyone — even those not riding the trails.

Attendees will be able to ride and show off their ATVs, UTVs and dirt bikes and will include an ATV rodeo, a mud pit a drag racing course and a wheelie contest with prizes

Other, non-riding activities include a movie night, a Texas Hold-Em tournament, miniature golf, a stocked catfish pond where people can bring their rods and reels and do a little fishing.

There are packages for various activities and on-site camping available.

There will be a scavenger hunt for $300 cash or a $400 warn wench.

There will be two Poker Runs and 1,000 prizes will be given away.

The mud pit includes an obstacle course and there will be non-competitive drag racing.
