Hicks-Dingess to wed June 25 - Pastor Michael and Valerie Hicks, along with Robert and Linda Dingess, are please to announce the engagement of their children, Jessica Hicks and Bobby Dingess. Jessica is the granddaughter of the Alice (Carl) Robinette of Hamlet, N.C,. the late Wilburn Adams, Jeanette Blankenship of Cow Creek. the late Bill Blankenship of Cow Creek, and Doug (Calla Jo) Hileman of Barnabus. She is a 2008 graduate of Richmond Senior High School in Rockingham, N.C., and is employed by Logan Regional Medical Center. Bobby is the grandson of Manual and Lorene Estrathers of Cow Creek, Connie Dingess of Chapmanville and the late Franklin Dingess. He is a 2006 graduate of Beth Haven Christian School at Chauncey and is employed by Arch Coal Company. The couple has planned a evening ceremony for Saturday, June 25, 2011 at New Day Family Worship Center. 

One year anniversary - Mr. and Mrs. Brian (Elishia) Bledsoe were united in marriage on June 21, 2010, at 11 a.m. on Magen’s Bay beach on the island of St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. After they were joined together as husband and wife, they continued their honeymoon cruise through various parts of the Southern Caribbean. Elishia is the daughter of Bud and Margie Mullins of Peach Creek, and is employed by Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College as a student records/admissions assistant. Brian is the son of Marvin “Bosco” and Madonna “Heidi” Bledsoe of Chapmanville, and is employed by Alpha Natural Resources as a heavy equipment operator. The couple make their home in Chapmanville.

Bailey-Nelson to wed June 25th - Jason and Kathy Carpenter, along with Rodney and Sherri Nelson, are honored to announce the forthcoming marriage of their children, Kortni Bailey and Justin Nelson. The bride-elect is a 2008 graduate of Chapmanville and is currently enrolled in Mountaineer Beauty College. The prospective groom is a 2007 graduate of Chapmanville High School and is employed as an underground mine electrician. The couple will exchange vows Saturday, June 25, 2011, at 5 o'clock in the afternoon at the Victory Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Roscoe Chafin performing the ceremony. The gracious custom of an open ceremony will be observed. A reception will follow at Glen's Barn at Peach Creek.

Hall-Blankenship to wed - Ms. Madeline M. "Lynn" Hall and Mr. Gary D. "Goofy" Blankenship are pleased to announce their forthcoming marriage. The couple will exchange marriage vows at noon Saturday, July 2, 2011, at the Greenvalley Worship Center at Man. Tammy Damron will serve as maid of honor and Gary Blankenship II will serve as best man. The gracious custom of an open ceremony will be observed. An outdoor reception will follow the ceremony.
