Born March 17, 1922, in Logan County, she was a daughter of the late George Spence and Calvin and Nancy Vernatter Dingess. Also preceding her in death was one brother, Bill Spence; two half-sisters, Nora Workman and Dora Ward; the father of her children, Clayton Odell Frye; two sons, Freddie Lee Frye and Clayton Odell Frye Jr.; one daughter, Betty Ruth Frye; two grandchildren, Billy Dee Hall and Tammy Frye, and special friend, Burgess Hatfield.
Easter was formerly employed as a maid at the Aracoma Hotel.
Those left to cherish her beloved memory include her three daughters, Evelyn (Claude) Zornes of Dempsey Branch, Nancy (Billy Joe) Casey of Henlawson and Janet Sue Hall of Mud Fork. She was a loving grandmother to Cassie, April, Ashley, Josie, Joey, Crystal, Matthew, Gabby, Kelly, Darra, J.R., Wesley and Jason, and a great-grandmother to Emily, Adam, Brianna, Skylar, Greenlee, Nikki, Will, Ben, Dristen, Krysteea, Holly, Jacob, J.J., Denvis Ann, Hannah, Lara Jo, Taten, Layla, Emma and Baby Hall. Easter also leaves behind her special friends, Stella Whitt, Jessie King, Vickie Dingess, Claude and Kay Rainwater and a special pet, Mamie.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 23, at James Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donnie Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
