Adams is no stranger to most per the outdoor TV circuit and is a great fit for the area’s bowhunting only and extremely popular trophy deer turf.
Adams became the first ever to arrow all 27 species of North American big game.
What’s more, he accomplished the feat more than 20 years ago and is still going strong as an active hunter.
The event is hosted by the Logan County Chamber of Commerce (LCCC).
It also features famed coyote hunter and colorful how to speaker Tom Bechdel out of Pennsylvania, West Virginia’s McDowell County native and champion turkey caller and Beyond the Backyard (BTB) youth program coordinator Chris Walls, Charleston WV’s professional bass angler Jeremy Starks, WV Game and Fish magazine and famed Virginian river rafting writer Bruce Ingram and others. A Youth Challenge Competition, bird dog demonstration and 3-D Archery will also be on board.
A host of eatery and vendor booths will fill the Conference Center both inside and out with side rooms still yet available for the expert presentations and seminars. Chiming in with the Chamber on the big weekend are the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF), West Virginia Wildlife Federations (WVWF), the Bowhunters Association (WVBA), Coalfield Archery Club, the Hatfield & McCoy Trail folks and others.
Initial sponsors include Alpha Natural Resources, Arch Coal, National Armature, BB&T, LB&T, Pepsi and Faces of Coal with the list still growing.
To sponsor or check on remaining indoor or outdoor (tent) booth space or other information contact LCCC by phone at: 304-752-1324; or fax: 304-752-5988 or on the internet at logancountychamber@frontier.com . A specific web-page link to the expo is also available at: www.chiefloganexpo.com.
The event hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
An adult admission fee will be charged.
The well planned and long anticipated event has finally arrived. Folks won’t want to miss this opportunity to showcase some of the local Coalfield hospitality as well as the excellent post-mining possibilities that the Conference Center and facilities now afford.
Soon to follow the expo is the Mingo Beards & Spurs Chapter of the Turkey Federation’s (NWTF) Annual Banquet.
It will be held Thursday evening July 21 at the Williamson Fire Dept.
