CRHS is coming off an 8-4 season from a year ago in which the Tigers won a first-round Class AA playoff game before falling in the quarterfinals at Magnolia.
The Tigers, coached by George Barker, enter the new season on a hot streak as Chapmanville has enjoyed five straight winning seasons and four playoff appearances in a row.
Last season, the Chapmanville football team and Jake Robinson made national headlines by ESPN. Robinson, a senior running back, rushed for 408 yards and scored seven touchdowns in a 69-66 shootout win at home over the Poca Dots. Both teams combined for more than 1,000 yards of total offense.
Robinson went on to rush for better than 2,200 yards in the 2010 season before being named to the all-state team.
Robinson, however, has graduated along with backfield mate Dustin Botsch. Three-year starting quarterback Josh Easterling has also been lost to graduation.
