Born February 2, 1949, at Logan, he was a son of the late Adolph Sr. and Josephine Sanchez Lomely. Also preceding him in death were his sisters, Isavel and Angel Lomely, and brothers, Adolph Jr. and George Lomely.
Raymond graduated from Logan High School in 1967. He served in the U.S. Army, retiring as a specialist fourth class, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Raymond was a generous and loving person and he was an avid dog lover.
Survivors include his brothers, Rudolph (Ruby) Lomely of Omar, Joseph (Barbara) Lomely of Indiana and Terry (April) Thomas of Whitman, and sisters, Rosa S. Costello of Omar, with whom Raymond made his home, Josephine Mobech of Ohio, Cecelia (Johnny) Martin of Indiana and Lois (Roger) Nelson of Micco. Additionally those left to cherish his memory include his special nephews, Joseph E. (Tara) Spears of Florida, Johnny Martin Jr. of Arizona, Justin (Courtney) Martin, Billy Joe (Heather) Lomely and Kevin Lee Lomely, all of Indiana, Adolph Lomely III, Aaron (Zelda) Lomely, Michael (Barbara) Lomely and Jayme (Ray) Lomely, all of Kansas, Chris (Charlene) Mobech, Eric Mobech, Alan (Renee) Mobech, all of Ohio and David Lomely of Charleston, special nieces, Carla I. Martin of Kansas, Rachel (Jamie) McGraw of Pecks Mill, Ashley (Eric) Porter of Holden and Stacy Nelson of Micco; a host of great-nephews and nieces, and special cousins Joan Belcher of Monaville, David (Gail) Sanchez and Texas Gorgia, both of Huntington and Tony (Beverly) Sanchez of Ohio. Also special caregiver, Sue (Russell) Shepherd of Crystal Block; special friends, S. Small of Iowa and Harrison, Barbara and Gary Webster of Omar, and special pets Lucy I, Lucy II, and Lucy III.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 5, at the Collins Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Richard Belcher officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
His nephews and great-nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
