The event will be sponsored by students in two of F. Dean Lucas' classes.
Kara Robinette told The Logan Banner the event will be a combination heritage festival and Kennedy day. This fall an Appalachian Heritage class will be offered at the Logan campus.
Last year's Appalachian Heritage day focused on culture of the mountains, with music, guest speakers and food.
This year's event, Lucas said, promises to be more streamlined because of lessons learned last year.
Part of the day will consist of a Kennedy reflection focusing on the ties between southern West Virginia and members of the Kennedy political clan.
