This week might be Spring Break week for Logan County students.

But several area baseball and softball teams are scheduled to be in action.

The Man High School baseball team has a tough week starting with Monday’s game at Williamson.

“We knew these first two weeks of the season were going to be draining and to come with a 4-5 record ... that could be a lot better,” first-year coach Chris Harvey said. “Going into next week we are going to play teams that we need to beat.”

Man will host Class AA Winfield on Tuesday, Class A No. 2 Charleston Catholic on Wednesday before heading to Federal Hocking, Ohio on Thursday. The Hillbillies will close the week with at St. Marys on Friday and visit Class A No. 6 Williamstown on Saturday.

“Somewhere down the road we are going to have to beat Charleston Catholic,” Harvey said. “And if we go as deep as we think we can, then we are going to have to beat the teams like a St. Marys or a Williamstown.”

Both the Logan High School baseball team (9-1) and the Logan girls’ softball team (9-2) are in tournament action at Myrtle Beach, S.C., as both are slated to play a host of weeklong games in the Palmetto State.

The Man High School girls’ softball team (5-4) plays at Liberty Raleigh on Monday before taking part in the Best of the Best tourney at Buffalo.

The Chapmanville girls’ softball team (8-3) is also set to take part in the Best of the Best.

The CHS baseball team (9-0) plays at Wayne on Monday, goes to Belfry (Ky.) on Tuesday, plays at Westside and hosts Point Pleasant on Wednesday and hosts Belfry on Thursday.
