The Chapmanville Tigers and Logan Wildcats remained atop the State Coaches Association Softball Poll in Class AA while the Man Hillbillies jumped two spots to No. 3 in Class A.

The Wildcats could unseat Chapmanville when the next poll is released later in the week after posting a 3-0 record highlighted by a 2-0 victory over the top-ranked Tigers.

The Wildcats started the week with a 3-2 victory over Class AA No. 6 Scott on Monday followed with a 5-2 victory over Herbert Hoover. The Wildcats were scheduled to host Sissonville and AA No. 10 Shady Spring, but those games were postponed because of the cold weather.

Chapmanville was 3-1 with shutout victories over Poca (5-0), Wayne (6-0) and county rival and Class A No. 3 Man (6-0).

The Tigers were scheduled to host the DUI Tournament, but temperatures in the 20's forced the cancellation of the tournament.

Man was 2-2 last week, picking up victories over Wyoming East (6-l) and AA No. 6 Scott (9-6), but lost to AA top-ranked Chapmanville (6-0) and AAA No. 6 Lincoln County (14-1).

Logan will see action in the Myrtle Beach Grand Strand Classic while Chapmanville and Man will take part in the Best of the Best Tournament at Buffalo High School Wednesday-Saturday.

Spring Valley is first in Class AAA followed by Riverside, Huntington, St. Albans and Parkersburg South.

Lincoln County is sixth followed by Cabell Midland, East Fairmont, Musselman, Lewis County and South Charleston.

Winfield is third in AA followed by Herbert Hoover and Magnolia.

Scott, Frankfort, Point Pleasant, Ravenswood and Shady Spring are ranked 6-10.

Wheeling Central is first in Class A and is followed by Buffalo while Fayetteville is fourth and Richwood fifth.

South Harrison, Moorefield, St. Marys, Huntington St. Joseph and Wahama round out the top 10.
