The West Virginia National Guard has been in Logan and Mingo counties this week working to help flood victims recover.

The National Guard soldiers have been working in the mud, muck and mire, picking up flood debris all over the coalfields. It’s dirty work and would take weeks to clean up without their help.

We applaud their hard work and want them to know just how much we truly appreciate them.

The soldiers of the National Guard have all had a friendly smile and warm greeting for residents of the flood-torn areas, while they work hard giving flood relief to flood victims.

We can’t say enough about the work they’re doing but we can say “Thank you.” We hope you’ll extend the same thanks to the soldiers when you see them.

We really, really appreciate the help in this time of need. Our people have suffered through a tough week and the National Guard have brightened our spirits through their hard work and effort.

Thank you, members of the National Guard. We appreciate everything you do for our people!
