The Logan County Commission has been working almost non-stop since the recent flooding to get help to the people of Logan County. They also held a meeting with miners to address recent court rulings that put a temporary stop to mountaintop mining in our area.

The commissioners were busy during the flood and through the cleanup and they haven’t stopped working to bring relief to Logan County.

Now, another Logan County company is facing large layoffs of workers due to an injunction filed by environmental groups trying to stop Magnum Coal from mining in Logan County. More than 200 miners stand to lose their jobs.

The commission is again at work trying to get a quick resolution to the problem and we hope that the commissioners’ work is not in vain.

The Logan County Commission is definitely working hard for the county’s residents, trying to improve life here for everyone and we applaud their tireless efforts.
