The Logan County Board of Education is expected to announce the details of Superintendent to be Wilma Zigmond’s contract at the next board meeting.

The board will meet in regular session next Thursday, June 14, at 6 p.m. at the Ralph R. Willis Vocational Center.

Leslie Tyree, board director of legal services, said there was never any holdup, but it had to be on the agenda for the board meeting for approval.

“The law requires us to put it on the agenda to be approved,” Tyree said.

“I just wanted to make sure that it said the correct thing on the agenda.”

Tyree said she expects the contract to be approved at the next board meeting. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

“We are just trudging along here trying to finish up school,” Tyree said. “but everything is pretty quiet.”

Zigmond replaces current Superintendent David Godby, who announced his retirement in late April. Zigmond will take over July 1.

Zigmond was announced as the next Superintendent of schools at a May 17 meeting.
