In the 1980s sci-fi classic Arnold Schwarzenegger was "The Running Man" who was in a race for his life. Local law enforcement officers captured a different kind of running man recently.

Members of the U.S. 119 Drug Task Force arrested Cecil Edward Tabor, 43, of Wilkinson on June 7 for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and fleeing on foot charges.

According to law enforcement reports the officers were attempting to serve a warrant on Tabor for unrelated felony possession charges when "the accused did flee out the rear window of his residence located in White's Addition." Reportedly Tabor had in his possession "one plastic bag containing approximately 22 grams of marijuana in a pants pocket," the report states. "During a protective search o the residence this officer recovered another plastic bag containing 30.5 grams of marijuana lying in plain view in the floor."

Tabor was taken into custody and booked at the Southwestern Regional Jail at Holden at 4:56 p.m.

In other law enforcement news:

Dorey Michelle Lester, 30, of Davin was arrested by Deputy N. Booth of the Logan County Sheriff's Department for giving false information to an officer and obstructing an officer.

According to law enforcement reports on May 21, Lester allegedly told deputies Booth and Jason Mathis that Nathan Meade had assaulted her, but she reportedly showed up later at a court hearing stating he did not and that she wanted to drop the charges.

A warrant was issued for her arrest and she was taken into custody and booked at the regional jail at noon.
