The Miss, Ms. and Mrs. City of Logan WV Freedom Festival pageant was held in the beautiful Coalfield Jamboree Friday night, June 29. The pageant is the kick off for four days of celebration at the WV Freedom Festival to be held in Downtown Logan starting Wednesday, July 4. The celebration will end Saturday 7.

The four days are action packed and the royalty to reign over the four day festival is as follows:

The new Miss WV Freedom Festival, who will reign over the four days of events in Downtown Logan, is Jennifer Ballard. Jennifer will also be eligible to contend at the Miss WV Fairs and Festival state pageant in January at the Charleston Civic Center.

Other specialty awards given at the pageant include: Freedom Fundraisers - Ailee Blevins, Grace Kimler, Elizabeth Browning, Krisa Lamb, Taylor Miller and Josephia Scott. Those contestants were awarded by the festival with a Miss USA Princess Replica Crown; Biggest Fan Club Queen - Josephina Scott; Miss Lady Liberty Queen - Taylor Miller; First Registered Queen - Grace Kimler, and Miss Congeniality - Grace Kimler.

The pageant also included Magician Dewayne Hill for intermission entertainment, as well as local singer, Ashley Johnson. The pageant was opened by local entertainer Dee Dee Dillion. Volunteers helping the pageant included: Stephanie Avis, Olivia Tomblin, Renae Amburgey, Kathy Miller, Shane Hall, David Gore, Tammy Killen, Ursula Brown, Ronika Brown, and Jenetta Johnson. Tim Secrist hosted the pageant for the third year, and Amber Gore directed the pageant. Jerry Green was the sound technician, and Alford Crum was backstage and venue manager.

The Coalfield Jamboree concession stand was fully staffed with volunteers and served the favorites. Miss Sha Hall was the hostess for the evening. The queens and winners will be present at various times during the four day festival, and will be in Saturday's parade at 4 p.m. The Grand Marshal, The Hatfield & McCoy Trail, was honored prior to the pageant with sashes and a scepter. Jeff Lusk, John Fekete and Shannon Orso will ride in the parade on July 7th, leading all ATVs that enter the parade.
