The 11-12-year-old Little League state tournament berth will be on the line next week as the District 2 tourney is scheduled to be played at Madison.
The eight-team tournament is slated to begin Saturday with the Pineville-Mullens game at 11 a.m. Then at 1 p.m., Man plays Red Jacket. At 3 p.m., Holden squares off with Welch. Then at 5 p.m., Logan faces off with Omar at 5 p.m.
Four more games are set to be played on Sunday, beginning with the Holden-Red Jacket game at 1 p.m. Omar plays Pineville at 3 p.m., Logan takes on Mullens at 5 p.m. and Man squares off with Welch in the 7 p.m. nightcap.
On Monday, Holden plays Man at 5 p.m. and Omar battles with Mullens at 7 p.m.
The tourney is scheduled to conclude on Tuesday as Logan takes on Pineville at 5 p.m. and Welch plays Red Jacket at 7 p.m.
The 11-12-year-old state tournament is slated to be played at Hedgesville.
n Action continued in the district 9-10 tourney at Omar on Tuesday but, again, no scores or statistics were made available to The Logan Banner. Call 752-6950 to report scores the morning after games.
