On Monday around 10:30 a.m., an incoming patient’s car crashed through the front window and into the waiting room area at Hill Chiropractic, located at the Fountain Place Mall in Logan. The storefront suffered around $20,000 in damage, according to owner Dr. Cliff Hill.
“A patient was coming in for her appointment and must have mistook the gas for the brake,” Hill said. “She jumped the curb and crashed into the waiting room. Thank God no one was hurt. And Thank God no one was in the waiting room, because if there had been anyone in there, it would have killed them.”
Hill said the waiting room is usually packed with people, but, the last patient in the room had left about 30 seconds prior to the crash.
“We had 70 people on the schedule and seven of those were supposed to be there in the waiting room at that time,” Hill said.
“Those seven, though, had all rescheduled or cancelled their appointments. One patient, who came to our Madison office (Tuesday), was supposed to have been there but was running late. Being late really paid off for him.”
Hill said the driver of the car suffered only minor injuries and no one in the office was hurt.
The car, Hill said, crashed through the large front window and did damage to the wall.
But, he said that won’t stop him from seeing patients in the Fountain Place Mall location.
Hill said the Logan office was set to reopen this morning and that another waiting room area in the office would be used for patients.
On Tuesday, the Hill Chiropractic group was working out of their Madison office.
The Logan City Police investigated the incident.
