Logan County Prosecutor Brian Abraham met with civil rights leaders Friday and said he pledged a thorough investigation in the case of the black woman who was allegedly held captive and sexually and physically abused for about a week by six white captors.

Members of the NAACP, the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, and local black ministers met with Abraham to discuss Megan Williams’ case.

The 20-year-old Charleston woman was held captive for more than a week at a ramshackle trailer, where authorities say she was tortured, sexually assaulted and forced to eat animal droppings. Williams’ ordeal ended when an anonymous tip led to her discovery by police.
