Editor,

Nikita Kruchev, Premier of the Former Soviet Union, once declared to the United States, “We Will Bury You!” The Chinese, however, are cleverer. Instead of using nuclear weapons to bury Americans, they use lead paint, poison products, and the greed of American Corporations to accomplish the same thing. American Corporations that have closed their factories in the United States; put their loyal employees out of work, and moved to a Communist Country to use child, slave, and prison labor to make products to sell here in the United States. We spent billions of dollars trying to defeat communism since the end of World War II only to allow the Communist Chinese to prosper by allowing so many run-a-way American Corporations to sell their products back here at such a huge profit,

When Wal-Mart first started here, I understood they were going to try to push products of American-made companies. I see instead, nearly everything from China. Now that there are so many recalls of Chinese made products, it looks like stores like Wal-Mart would try to seek out American suppliers. It just seems odd tome that they can make a toy in China, package it and ship it to the U.S. cheaper than it can be made here by American workers. I know the greedy American Corporations would lose some of their profits, but I’m sure some member of congress would help them make it up.

I heard on the news the other day that Congress had approved a one hundred and fifty billion dollar appropriation bill for the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. That’s bad enough, sending all that money to Iraq, but I heard on the news last night that Iraq has chosen to buy weapons for their police forces and military from China. It seems to me that the US. is borrowing money from China to pay the interest on our national debt, now they’re allowing Iraq to spend the money we’re giving them to spend in China!! The worst part is I haven’t heard any outcry from members of Congress!!

I do want to say, however, that I am totally opposed to that stupid war in Iraq, but I would never deny any of our troops over there anything they need to stay alive. They need to be home with their families. Children need their fathers and mothers with them, not in Iraq!

Thanks for allowing me to vent my frustration. I just wish someone would start standing up for the American taxpayer. We here in southern West Virginia need decent roads to drive on, a hospital here in the Man area, a bridge replaced in the Town of Man, and jobs. I wish some of our elected officials in this county would get off their collective rear ends and push for some kind of economic development that would include some kind of manufacturing jobs. Just half of one per cent of the money congress allocated for that stupid war would do fantastic things for us. We never hear a sound out of our elected officials though, until of course, it’s time for re-election
