Born October 7, 1930, at Baileysville, he was a son of the late Alvis and Ruth Bailey Corns. Also preceding him in death was one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Eloise Blankenship Corns; three brothers-in-law, Luther Perry, and Ora and Jimmy Frye, and three sisters-in-law, Ruby Corns, Dorothy McKenzie and Margie Peck.
Jack was a disabled electrician, formerly employed with Powellton Coal Company, a member of UMWA Local 8217 and a U.S. Air Force victim. Jack loved to hunt and fish.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 49 years, Jean Frye Corns; one sister, Donna Jean Perry of Davin: two brothers, Jim (Ruth) Corns and Joe Corns, both of Davin; brothers-in-law, Otis (Palmis) Frye of Toledo, Ohio, and Junior (Donna) Frye of Cheshire, Ohio; nieces and nephews, Jeremy Podunavac, Margaret Meade, Judy Butcher, Donnie Corns, Sharon Doss, Lori Mitchell, Jamie Corns, Tammy Gibson, Roy Lee Frye, Cliffton Frye, Paul David Frye, Susie Keyser, Connie, Jimmy Frye Jr., Phillip Frye, Leslie McKenzie, Greg Peck, Pete Peck, Deana Larkins, Debbie Baisden, Rosemary Calapetro, Darrell Frye, Bobby Frye, Billy Frye, Dottie Jean, Mark Frye, Tony Frye, Matthew Frye, and Sharon; many great-nieces and great-nephews, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, December 3, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel at Man with Rev. Roland Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Eric Gibson, Joey Mitchell, Jeremy Podunavac, Darmil Frye, Junior Frye and Bobby Frye.
Honorary pallbearers will be Otis and Junior Frye, Stan Brumfield, Harold Blankenship, and Johnny Vinson.
