Each Saturday in October the food committee of the Prayer Club collected money and canned food at the Wal-Mart Store entrance. The Prayer Club was able to give out 75 food baskets loaded with a variety of food items and hygiene goods. The baskets went to families with children with financial needs.
Logan High students, staff members, Logan Grade School and members of the Logan community assisted the good will project by donating money and cans of food.
The Logan High Prayer Club is planning a Christmas Canned Food Drive. Anyone in the Logan community that would like to make a donation of canned food or money can drop it off at Logan High's main office during any regular school day from 7:30 until 2:30 or you may phone the school at 752-6606 and give direction to your home. A member of the Logan High Prayer Club will be glad to pick up your gift. Money that is given is use to purchase hams to the food baskets.
The Logan High Prayer Club has been successful in these benevolent campaigns over the years because the administration, staff, student body and local community work together to accomplish the goal of feeding the less fortunate of our region. The Prayer Club would like to thank all those who make this possible. The motto of the Logan High School Prayer Club is "Concern for the Spiritual Welfare of the Logan High School Student Body". Food drives are a part of fulfilling this pledge.
The organization meets each Tuesday at 11:35 in the school's Little Theater. The program consists of special singing and a biblical devotion given by a student or community minister.
The meetings are well attended and bring encouragement and inspiration to the school's youth. Community is welcomed to attend.
