New Mayor Serafino Nolletti had some good news for the Logan City Council at the recent December meeting.

The mayor said the West Virginia Development Office has been working closely with the city to try and sell the Number 2 Parking Building located along Holland Lane.

The structure once housed a telemarketing firm that decided to close up shop earlier this year. Since that time, the city has been trying to sell or lease the structure which has a vast business complex on the top floor and state of the art telecommunications infrastructure.

Mayor Nolletti said that, with the help of the Development Office, representatives from an insurance organization from Ohio will be coming in soon to tour the facility and may be interested in locating there.

Selling or renting the structure has been a major topic at city hall since the telemarketing firm moved out, as the city still owes money on the structure and has been left without a tenant to help pay the bills. The city does receive some funds from the structure from people who park in the building.

Last month, Councilman Tom Fink met with The Logan County Commission and a state agency about possibly looking into the matter of relocating to the structure but the meeting was unsuccessful.
