SISSONVILLE n The Cardinal Conference looks like it is separated by two camps this girls’ basketball season.

No. 2-ranked Winfield and No. 3 Sissonville are at the top.

And the other six league teams, including Chapmanville and Logan, are fighting it out with each other at the bottom.

Chapmanville got to battle it out with Sissonville last night on the road and gave the Indians a game before falling 46-37 at the Sissonville High School gym.

“We played our butts off,” Lady Tigers’ coach Ronnie Ooten said. “We played them close and we cut it to three at one point.”

Kaitlyn Snyder had 21 points to lead the Indians.

Andi Williamson went 10-for-12 from the free-throw line to finish with 10 points for Chapmanville (2-2).

Tiffini Hale had eight, Cortney Willis six and Poppy Ramey five. Lydia Vance and Brittany Casto tallied three each. Jenna Vance had two.

The Lady Tigers are slated to get back into action on Dec. 20 at home against 3A Nitro.
