Once again the employees of Arch Coal's Mountain Laurel Mine ha spread the Christmas cheer for children in our community.

This Christmas season the employees of Mountain Laurel have opened their hearts, and their wallets, to children in the neighboring communities as well as the residents of Logan Center Genesis Healthcare nursing home. Arch Coal, Inc. again pledged to match all employee contributions from the Mountain Laurel Complex, and for 2007 they combined to raise $15,000 for members of our community. This year’s festivities started off with Santa Claus visiting employees and their family members at the Earl Ray Tomblin Convention Center. Then Old St. Nick himself visited children’s homes to deliver presents in person.

This year Mountain Laurel purchased food, gifts and clothing for more than 140 children in Logan, Boone and Lincoln Counties. Santa would like to extend his gratitude to Goody's at the Fountain Place Mall and the Danville Dollar Discount Store for their generosity.
