Logan wrestlers Wilson, Cotterall take first places at Shady Mania

SHADY SPRING n The Logan High School wrestling team saw several of its members place during the Shady Mania event last Saturday at Shady Spring High School.

In the 171-pound weight class, Logan’s Josh Wilson won four matches to take first place. Wilson is 18-4 on the year.

At 285 pounds, Logan’s Mike Cotterall won five matches and also took first place. His record has improved to 17-4.

In the 112-pound division, Logan’s Josh Gearhart won two matches and is now 11-7 on the season.

In the 140-pound division, Tyler Harrison also won two matches and improved his season record to 7-6.

Morgan Sheppard of Logan also picked up a pair of wins in the 160-pound weight class and now stands at 9-4 on the season.

In the 215-pound division, Logan’s Frank Dillon won four matches and is 18-5 on the year.

Logan High School grapplers Ronnie Abbott and Shane Alexander also wrestled at the tourney.

Logan High School’s next event is the Cardinal Conference meet, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 2 at Poca High School.

n Last Wednesday, Logan took part in the Wyoming East duel meet on the road and won 48-18.

In the 112-pound division, Logan’s Josh Gearhart was 4-0 with two pins.

In the 135-pound class, Ronnie Abbott was 2-0.

Tyler Harrison went 2-0 in the 140-pound class.

In the 160, Morgan Sheppard was 2-0 with two pins.

At 171, Josh Wilson recorded two pins and was a perfect 2-0.

Shane Alexander (189) was 4-0 with two pins.

Dillon was also a perfect 4-0 with two pins.

Cotterall was 2-0 with two pins in the 285 class.
