One man is dead following a Friday automobile crash near Combs Addition on Route 10.

David Robertson, 27, of Cyclone, died Sunday after suffering severe injuries in a one-vehicle crash on Huff Creek on Friday night.

According to reports, Robertson lost control of his Dodge pickup truck and slammed into a tree. Speed, according to Logan County Sheriff Eddie Hunter, is believed to have been the major contributor to the crash.

Robertson had to be extricated from the vehicle and was trapped inside for two hours while crews worked to get him out. Healthnet crews arrived on the scene to airlift him to a Huntington hospital, but, due to the wait, the Healthnet workers assisted with Robertson's extrication, which took so long because he was facing a 20-foot dropoff into the creek.

Robertson, who reportedly suffered severe internal injuries, along with leg injuries, was then transported to a St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, where he reportedly died Sunday morning.
