Jack Earl Fox, 30, of Coolville, Ohio, was arrested on Feb. 22, by West Virginia State Police Trooper B.K. Wellman for possession of a controlled substance, destruction of property, disorderly conduct, battery, assault, obstructing, public intoxication and assault and battery on an officer.
According to law enforcement reports, the officer "responded to a large fight at the Mt. Gay Lounge involving approximately 10-12 male subjects."
"Upon arrival of this officer, along with other members of the W.Va. State Police and the Logan County Sheriffs Department, these officers observed the accused, Jack Fox, outside of the bar extremely intoxicated and cussing at several males," the report states. "This officer instructed the male to place his hand on a hand rail in order to pat him down for officer safety. During the patdown, the accused was very uncooperative and became verbal with this officer and others. After numerous verbal commands to keep his hand on the rail, the accused turned towards this officer in a threatening manner. This officer and others physically placed the accused on the ground and attempted to handcuff him. The accused continued to be verbally threatening and tried kicking these officers.
"After the accused was placed in custody, this officer discovered a clear plastic bag containing a green substance, appearing to be marijuana," the report continues. "The accused stated that it was indeed marijuana in the bag. Upon placing the accused in the back seat of this officer's cruiser, the accused began to head butt and kick the passenger side window in an apparent attempt to break the window. This officer and others opened the rear door and the accused immediately became aggressive. The accused was then sprayed with a one-second burst of CS spray which subdued the subject. After subduing the subject, this officer was able to determine that the accused had been involved in the original fight complaint and struck an individual inside the bar prior to coming outside."
He was booked at the Southwestern Regional Jail at Holden at 1:39 a.m.
