The Man Lady Billies basketball team made all of Logan County proud by making it to the state basketball tournament. Yesterday, they battled against a tough Wheeling Central team and lost, but they are winners in our hearts and minds. The Lady Billies gave it all they had and nearly defeated the heavily-favored private school. We applaud your efforts Man Lady Billies for a job well done and look forward to another run at the state title next year!

Then, last night, the Logan Wildcats basketball team advanced to the Class AA state tournament set for next week with a hard-fought win over Scott. Both teams played well, but the hometown team brought home the gold for the fifth straight time. Good job, Logan!

Earlier in the week, Gilbert topped Tug Valley to earn the Lions’ third-straight trip to the Class A state tournament. Good job, Gilbert!

We’ll be there next week rooting both Logan and Gilbert on in the state tournament we hope everyone in the coalfields turns out for the games to show their support.

You’ve made it back to state once again and we’re proud of both teams. Now, we hope you both bring home the gold!
