Local PD reports show busy winter

It seems like there were an awful lot of arrests over the winter months in Logan and Man, that's because there were, according to monthly police reports submitted to the Logan and Man councils.

According to Chief David White the Logan P.D. saw 34 complaints taken in the month of January with a whopping 66 arrests made. Nine accident reports were filed and three municipal traffic citations were issued. Red tickets brought in $445.00 and yellow tickets brought in $607 in January.

In December the Logan PD handled 26 complaints and made 24 arrests and took 10 accident reports. Eight municipal citations wee issued and red tickets brought in $580 while yellow tickets brought in $733.

In comparison the month of May 2007 showed the Logan PD making 32 arrests.

In the town of Man, January saw the Man PD make two felony arrests and five misdemeanor arrests with 11 separate charges. 44 citations were issued with 64 individual charges. Two warning citations were issued according to Chief W.S. "Steve" Simpkins.

In December the Man PD made two felony arrests and seven misdemeanor arrests featuring 12 charges; issued 20 citations on 32 charges and three warning citations.

Local firefighters also have had a busy winter with dozens of calls on a monthly basis for the larger departments. According to Logan Fire Chief Scotty Beckett his department logged 580 calls in 2007.
