Golden Anniversary - On February 23, 2008, family and friends gathered at the Bright Star Freewill Baptist Church in Melville to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of Lonnie Dale and Freda Craddock Meeks. Lonnie and Freda were married on February 22, 1958, at the home of her parents, the late Orville and Vesta Craddock, in Ethel by the late Rev. Andrew Crabtree. Together Lonnie and Freda had four children, Rick Meeks of Logan, Teresa (Kevin) Luther of Ethel, Larry of Lake and Jeanetta (Frank) Imes of Winfield. They have nine grandchildren, Christina, Matthew and Mary Meeks, Brittney, Caleb and Alexis Luther, Kayla Imes (Jason) Walls, and Jacob and Liberty Imes. Their children honored their parents by each taking a moment to express what their love and lives have meant to each of them. They were then presented with a gift from their children - a weekend at Eagles Ridge Resort in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Besides their children and grandchildren, also in attendance were Frank and Ann Cantrell, Bill Craddock, Frank and Gail Imes, Orville and Merrial Moore, Cecil and Nora Willis, Katy Trent, Gay Cook, James and Teresa Vance, Delena Frye, Becky Harvey, J.J. Johnson, Mary Lou Simpkins, Bill, Taunya and Jordan Hayes, Ralph Vance, P.J. Workman, Gary Bryant, Pam Mullins, Brett Campbell, Martha Hurley and Stephanie Akers.

One year anniversary - Jonathan and Brittany Lowe Jessie of Verdunville will celebrate their first year anniversary tomorrow. The couple was united in marriage on April 7, 2007, in Gatlinburg, Tenn. Brittany is the daughter of Janice and Dwight Williamson of Verdunville. She is a 2003 graduate of Logan High School, is attending Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College and is employed full-time at Goody
