This letter is in regard to the fishing day organized by the Buffalo Creek Watershed Association held on March 25, 2008.
I was fortunate enough to be on hand for this occasion that benefited not only the children of Buffalo Creek, but children of surrounding areas as well. Although the weather was very cold and windy, there was an amazing turnout.
Most, if not all children received their very own fishing rod and reel as well as a tackle box filled with fishing gear. It was great seeing local businesses represented as well as politicians on hand for this event.
The Watershed Association has come a long way since its formation and all members should take comfort from each and every smile that was caused by them on this day and many more fishing days to come. As one speaker put it, a child with a fishing rod in its hand is more than likely not in any trouble. I, as well as my children, look forward to next year
