Lee University Campus Choir, a 70-voice festival choir from, Cleveland, Tenn., will present a worship concert at the Switzer Church of God on Saturday, April 12, beginning at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, April 13, at 10 a.m.

Campus Choir sings from the inside out. These young people love to sing the praises of the most high God-you can see it in the joy on their faces, and you can hear it in the passion of their voices. They worship the Lord with heart soul, mind and strength. Voices and instruments combine for a single purpose-to make His praise glorious! Made up of students from nearly every major, it is a diverse group of students hailing from all areas of the USA, and many countries around the world.

The choir has sung and ministered throughout much of the United States, singing in churches, youth meetings, and conventions of both regional and national scope. They have been featured guests at Winterfests in Gatlinburg, Tenn., Arlington, Texas, Ocean City, Md., Cincinnati, Ohio, and Orlando, Fla., for the last seven years singing for as many as 23,000 people. Campus Choir has sung at Times Square Church, The Brooklyn Tab, Christ Church in Nashville, Mount Paran Church of God in Atlanta, Princeton Pike Church of God in Hamilton, Ohio, Carpenters home church in Lakeland, Fla., and in many other churches, both large and small. In May of 1993 the choir traveled to Sophia Bulgaria, where they presented a concert with the National Radio and Television Orchestra of Bulgaria with special guest Phil Driscoll.

In 1995 the choir traveled to the island nation of Jamaica for evangelistic crusades with Alvln Slaughter. In the spring of 1999, Campus Choir traveled to the nation of Israel where they visited many holy sites to "sow praise into the heavens!" For the past two Christmas seasons the choir has sung a series of benefit concerts for the children of East Tennessee for the Dolly Parton Foundation with Dolly Parton. In May of 2001 the choir traveled to Washington, DC, to set up a tent on the mall - a tabernacle of David - to sow seed for revival in America in 24 hours of praise and worship and intercessory prayer.

The choir can be heard on the following records: Rain Down, and Revive Us Again with Alvin Slaughter and Sing Out with Ron Kenoly for Integrity Music: Gabriel's Song, a Christmas Musical written by David Horton and Michael Frazier for Pathway music; and God's Glorious Church arranged by Larry Goss for Silver Springs Music. There video recording is entitled Praise, Worship, and GLORY! It was recorded live at Central Baptist in Chattanooga, TN. Another release is Jubilee! Celebrating the Year of God's Favor is available in both audio and video. Other releases include Times of Refreshing, Through The Fire (Power Unlimited), and our newest releases Live in Worship! (The Inspiration Networks) and The Comforter Has Come which premiered Spring 2006.

Power Unlimited, a small ensemble from Campus Choir, will be featured in the concert. In May and June of 1990, they became the first Christian music group to travel to the Eastern Block nations after the wall came down. Music and missions is the heartbeat of Power Unlimited. They have recorded three albums of Praise and Worship choruses as well as their signature album Power Unlimited. A more recent recording from Power Unlimited is Through the Fire.

Pastor Jim Phillips is the new director of the Lee University Campus Choir. He is an adjunct faculty member at Lee University, where he received a Bachelor of Music Education degree in 1975. Having 30 years of experience as music pastor at Princeton Pike Church of God in Hamilton, Ohio, Pastor Phillips has a vast amount of experience and knowledge in the changing face of choral music. He utilizes music for worship and praise to truly point the listener to Christ. Some of his accomplishments include being honored as most outstanding Minister of Music in the Church of God in 1998 and 2003, executive producing eleven recording projects, and composing songs recorded by such names as Karen Wheaton and Steve Brook.
