Proposed Mingo Co. school gets $16M grant

CHARLESTON (AP) -- The West Virginia School Building Authority has awarded $88 million in grants for school construction.

The largest award, a multiyear $16.3 million grant, went to Mingo County for a new high school. Other grants announced Monday includes $10 million for a new elementary school in Berkeley County and a multiyear $10 million grant for Marion County's countywide building program.

The authority also awarded $3.7 million in emergency grants for school repairs in Barbour, Ritchie and Wetzel counties and temporary classrooms in Gilmer County.
