LOGAN - Local first responders got a lucky break on Monday when they arrived at the scene of a collision between a Geo Tracker and a coal truck several miles up Rum Creek.
Logan County Deputy Sheriff Derrick Pearson told The Logan Banner that the incident wasn't as bad as was expected.
Pearson said the Geo Tracker had apparently struck the coal truck when the road narrowed into a one-lane bridge.
The 911 call went out around 10 a.m. yesterday.
The Logan Fire Department and the Logan Emergency Ambulance Service Authority were also on hand despite their being no reported serious injuries.
No additional information was available at press time.
