Several well known country stars have been riding trails in the Gilbert area and more are planned to return for a concert and television taping this summer.
Marketing Director Mike Pinkerton told the board of directors that Hatfield-McCoy will have its most aggressive marketing campaign this year. He noted that Fisher's ATV World would be coming to town for their Reunion Show on June 20-22 at Gilbert with host Brian Fisher.
The event will be taped for an episode of Fisher's ATV World on the Outdoor Channel. Daryle Singletary and Michael Scott are scheduled to perform.
Other well known country music stars (such as Bucky Covington) have been in the Gilbert area recently filming sequences for videos and television shows, as well as enjoying the riding and scenery.
Pinkerton said local trails will be seen on ATV magazine footage and a video for their Web site. Dirt Tracks television show has also been shooting footage for their programming this year.
"A lot of these features are taped now, and will run later in the year," Pinkerton said.
Pinkerton said there will be plenty of organized fun at events coming to the trails this summer.
Dirt Days will return in July and will tie in with the City of Logan's Freedom Fest.
"A private promoter will be putting it on this time around," Pinkerton said. "And we will be assisting them. We will also be assisting Fisher's ATV World on the concert which is a part of their ATV Reunion. In May, they will have more video segments planned, as well as some top quality videos with country artists and advertisements filmed for national television.
Executive Director Jeff Lusk noted the HMRRA is working now with two marketing firms.
"We have a lot going on," he said.
