COW CREEK, W.Va. - Rev. William "Bill" Tomblin, 59, of Cow Creek, went to be with the Lord Thursday, May 15, 2008, at his residence.
Born August 30, 1948, at Omar, he was a son of the late Jesse F. and Elizabeth Meadows Tomblin.
Bill was a retired coal miner, was a pastor of the Omar Community Church for eight years and of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include his loving wife, Rebecca Tomblin; one son, Brian Ray Tomblin of Cow Creek; three brothers, Bobby (Anna) Tomblin of Cow Creek, Darrell (Amy) Tomblin of Chauncey and Mike (Elizabeth) Tomblin of Ypsilanti, Mich.; seven sisters, Trish (John) Gower and Pamela (Steve) Hapney, both of Chauncey, Mary Roop of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Donetta (Jim) Diamond and Kimberly (Joe) Diamond, both of Omar, Faye McCoy of Wilkinson and Verna (Jack) Diamond of Wayne, Mich., and two special friends, Frank DeRiso and Rusty Acord.
Services will be held at noon Monday, May 19, at the Collins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. C.D. Wolford and Rev. Alvis Porter Jr officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
