CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. - L.D. Dingess, 72, of Godby Branch of Chapmanville, went home to be with the Lord Monday, May 26, 2008, at CAMC General Division in Charleston.
Born December 9, 1935, at Crawley Creek of Chapmanville, he was a son of the late Edgar and Fannie Dingess. Also preceding him in death was his beloved wife, Claudia Samson Dingess; one brother, Oakley Dingess, and a brother-in-law, Allen Bryant.
L.D. was a member of The West Virginia Trappers Association and The Sheppard Chapel where Arnold Murray is pastor, and a former employee of A&P Bakery in Cleveland, Ohio, and Orville Ellis Construction of Chapmanville.
Those left to cherish his memory include one daughter, Jennifer Rose (Lonnie Allen) Doss of Chapmanville; two sons, Larry David (Marie) Dingess of Brunswick, Ohio, and Christopher Michael Dingess of Chapmanville; one sister, Loretta Bryant of Chapmanville; one sister-in-law, Reba Dingess of Chapmanville; five precious grandchildren, Julie DeCaprio, Sherry (Brian) Wood, Jared and Joah Dingess and Erica Jade Doss, and one great-grandchild, Jacob Wood.
Services will be conducted on at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 31, at the Freeman Funeral Home with Brother John T. Vance of Holden officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Pallbearers will be Steve Dingess, Terry Dingess, Scott Dingess, Mickey Chrysoffos, Gus Chrysoffos, Larry Dingess and Christopher Dingess.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
