Douglass Orsbon Boswell Jr. 35, of King George Virginia was arrested by Logan County Sheriff's Department deputy M.B. Carter and Man Patrolman James H. Brown on May 24 for riding an ATV on the road after dark, obstructing an officer and assault on an officer.
According to law enforcement reports, Boswell "drove his ATV to City Hall in the town of Man at approximately 11:10 p.m. cursing (and) stating, 'it's about time I found one of you (expletive deleted) here. I have called 911 three times with no response.'"
Boswell then demanded the officers drive him to a local rental business catering to ATV riders.
"This officer stated he would have to calm down and I would help him," the report states. "The defendant continued to cuss at myself and Deputy Carter, calling us (expletive deleted) and refusing to do as we asked. As this officer attempted to place the defendant under arrest, he would not stand up and continued to call us (expletive deleted). When this officer attempted to handcuff the defendant, he ... pushed this officer away. Deputy Carter then pepper sprayed the defendant. Both Deputy Carter and I placed the defendant on the ground and placed him under arrest."
Boswell was booked at the Southwestern Regional Jail at Holden at 11:08 p.m.
