Area law enforcement officers have continued to make drug-related arrests according to reports from the Southwestern Regional Jail at Holden.
Jimmy Ray Emery, 32, of Pecks Mill, was arrested in Logan County by the West Virginia State Police for possession of a controlled substance and obstructing an officer on May 28. According to police reports Troopers J.R. Brewer and J.K. Harris responded to a disturbance call at the Chevron in Justice Addition.
"Upon arrival, this officer made contact with the accused, Jimmy Ray Emery, who was observed to be unconscious and incoherent in the front seat of a blue Pontiac Grand Am," the report states.
"Upon awakening, the accused became angry with this officer and refused to follow this officer's instructions or answer any questions. This officers further observed the accused's speech to be slurred and his eyes to be bloodshot ... This officer asked the accused if he had anything on his possession this officer needed to be aware of, to which the accused replied a bottle of pills, located in his front left pants pocket. Subsequently, a prescription medication bottle was removed from the accused's left front pocket. The bottle was found to contain numerous pills believed to be both xanax and lortab and were in various dosage sizes. The accused was then placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance and obstruction."
He was booked at the regional jail at 9:10 p.m.
